Esther Marie ReeseAge 80, passed away Friday, January 10, 2003. Esther, a life long resident of the lower Puget Sound region, was born in Tacoma, Washington, July 10, 1922. She was preceded in death by husbands: Frederick Reinke (1915-1971) and Verle 'Jack' Reese (1916-1996); grandson Michael Grostick (1964-1989) and great-granddaughter Danielle Foster (1985-1987). Better known as 'Butch' to her family and friends, Esther is survived by daughters: Mrs. Albert (Janice) Kasahara, Mrs. Phillip (Nancy) Graves, Mrs. Leroy (Carol) Lyke, Mrs. William (Diane) Grostick and Karen McCall; sons: Scott Reinke and Todd Reinke; sisters: Mrs. Dale (Virginia) Storlie, Mrs. Donald (Juanita) Estvold; sixteen grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews. Also are the many friends who were part of Esther's extended family and thought of her as 'Mom'. A retail clerk in downtown Olympia department stores for over thirty years, Esther was also a Girl Scout leader, high school band chaperone and Red Cross volunteer. Her favorite activities included traveling, almost anything involving being outdoors, John Wayne movies and watching the Seattle Mariners (especially Ichiro) win.
