"A Kittitas Valley resident for the past 62 years, Hugh L. Stonebraker, 73, died Saturday night at his home in Ellensburg. He had been in failing health for several years.
Born April 11, 1880, in Kansas, Stonebraker came here from Seattle with his parents at the age of 11. He was a former employee of the Ellensburg Lumber Co. and operated a farm on the West Side for 35 years. He also worked for the Kittitas County Dairymen's Association for several years before his retirement in 1949.
He was married to Narcissus Jones on April 11, 1950 at Yakima. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Ellensburg.
Stonebraker is survived by his wife, at the Ellensburg home; a sister, Mrs. Nora Clark, Montour, Idaho; two step-daughters, Mrs. Sam Hollenbeck, Livingston, Mont., and Mrs. Gerald McNeil, Ellensburg; and a step-son, George Needham of Seattle.
The Rev. Miller C. Lovett will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Evenson Chapel. Burial will take place at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

County's oldest resident dies
Narcissus Needham Stonebreaker 1, 103, believed to be the oldest resident in Kittitas County, died Tuesday at her home, 107 East 11th. No. 3.
She was born June 6, 1875 in California and came to the Kittitas Valley by covered wagon in the fall of 1877, when only six other white families were settled on the land.
Her father John Boone Jones, was a grandson 2 of Daniel Boone, famous early American frontiersman.
The family's first cabin was near the intersection of what is now Look and Wilson Creek Roads. A stockade was built around their land where neighbors often came for protection from Indians.As a young woman, she spent two years in Canada before permanently moving back to Kittitas County.
She married Harry Needham in 1890 and they operated a boarding house for gold miners in Liberty. Mr. Needham died in 1947.She married Hugh Stonebreaker 1 in 1950, who preceded her in death in 1953.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Womens Welcome Club, Silver Circle, and the Rodeo City Grandmothers Club. She had been honored as grandmother of the year many times.
Survivors include one son, George Needham of Issaquah; one daughter, Mrs. Gladys McNeil of Ellensburg; six grandchildren, including Mrs. Gene (Sally) Panattoni of Ellensburg; 11 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Winifred Hollenbeck died in 1955.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Evenson Chapel. The Rev. Nolan Redman will officiate and vault entombment and burial will follow at the IOOF cemetery.

Hi, I am the step granddaughter of Hannah Doersam. She died before my mother and step father were married (1956) but I have some information that you may want add. You have her children listed as Arnold and 2 living children. There is only one living child but the other two deceased children are Dorothy Doersam Ashe (married to Leo Ashe) and Juanita Doersam James (married to Hugh James). I do not have their exact dates of death but I can easily find out. Thought you would want to know.
