Evelyn C. Hanson, 88, of Olympia, Washington, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2005. Evelyn was born on November 2, 1916 at the Cold Spring Dairy on Clover Creek Road in Pierce County, Washington. Evelyn worked for the Singer Sewing Company for many years in Tacoma. She was a seamstress and drapery maker. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting and her beloved cats, Angie and Amber. Evelyn is survived by her four sons and their wives, Larry and Carole Hanson, of Kennewick, Washington, Fred and Melody Hanson, of Olympia, Robert and Lily Hanson, of Tacoma, and James and Patricia Hanson, of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters, Lorraine Caulfield, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Lucile Nilson, of Port Ludlow, Washington; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 12 step- great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren. Private family graveside services will be held at the Sumner City Cemetery in Sumner, Washington. Evelyn Christine (Greenlaw) Hanson
Born on the family farm, Cold Spring Dairy on Clover Creek Road, Spanaway on 2 November 1916 passed away in Olympia on 18 July 2005. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pierce county pioneer family members Loren T. and Anna Marie Luella (Kuper) Greenlaw, two brothers, Alfred Lawrence and Vernon Wesley Greenlaw, grandson Gregory Hanson and granddaughter, Pamela Hanson. Evelyn grew up on the dairy farm now occupied partly by Boeing Company and she attended Clover Creek School. She taught sewing for the Singer Company and was a well known seamstress and upholsterer before her retirement. She lived in many area communities, including Puyallup, Tacoma, Lakewood and Shelton, and spent short periods of time in the states of Missouri and Kentucky before moving to a retirement community in Olympia during the early 1980’s. She is survived by her four sons: Larry of Kennewick, Fred of Olympia, Robert of Tacoma and James of Jacksonville, Florida, two sisters, Lorraine Caulfield of Anchorage, Alaska and Lucille Nilsen of Port Ludlow, her maternal Aunt Irene Morris of University Place, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.Name: Evelyn C. Hi, I am the step granddaughter of Hannah Doersam. She died before my mother and step father were married (1956) but I have some information that you may want add. You have her children listed as Arnold and 2 living children. There is only one living child but the other two deceased children are Dorothy Doersam Ashe (married to Leo Ashe) and Juanita Doersam James (married to Hugh James). I do not have their exact dates of death but I can easily find out. Thought you would want to know.
