The 1860 Federal Census for Township No. 6, Green Springs, Tuolumine, California, page no. 59 provides the following information: On 21 September 1860, Dyre Brown (age 60, born Upper (Ontario)Canada, also reported as German Flats, Albany, New York) was living with his daughter, Hannah Brown Crosby (age 18, born Illinois) and her husband, James Crosby (age 26, born Tennessee) and thier son, William (age 1, born California).
